BOTONES CHARROS RING STYLE #2 was handcrafted in Spain via the lost wax method. It is part of a line of jewelry developed from the traditional CHARRO dress of Salamanca. The regional black outfit is comprised of short, corduroy trousers worn tight at the leg with buttoned gatiers, a sash worn around the waist under a short jacket revealing a waistcoat, and a flat-brimmed hat. For festival days, adornment is added with richly-colored embroidery and silver buttons like those seen on the outfits of local bullfighters. This dress was transplanted to Mexico in colonial times where for centuries the outfits were reserved by law for only those of Spanish descent.
