"DOVES OF PEACE MANDALA" COVERLET is taken from an original painting by Courtney Davis. Over the centuries, various cultures have believed in the symbolism of the dove. Some believed that the soul turns into a dove at death. For early Christians, the dove represented assurance given from heaven at Christ's baptism. And in even earlier stories, the dove was a symbol of peace and safety when it returned to the besieged ark after the great flood. The coverlet is approximately 50"x60" with fringe on all four sides.
