KELLS CROSS NOTECARD was created in Scotland from an original painting by Courtney Davis. Inside of the 5" square card is blank. Comes packaged with envelope. Story of design on back of card. (The Book of Kells holds a unique place in history with its extraordinary wealth of densely packed Hiberno-Saxon illumination. This large manuscript of four gospels was probably written and illuminated on Iona in the early 9th-century and brought to the monastery at Kells in unfinished form. This card design is an adaptation from a section of illumination on one of the parchment leaves.)
