THE SPIRAL OF DURROW NOTECARD was created in Scotland from an original painting by Courtney Davis. Inside of the 5" square card is blank. Comes packaged with envelope. Story of design on back of card. (Written around 680 A.D., Durrow is the earliest surviving fully-illuminated gospel. There is a suggestion at the end of the book that it might be a copy of an earlier exemplar written by St. Columba. The spiral that we see over and over in Celtic art is a natural pattern of growth in nature. It is symbolic of eternal life with the whorls representing the continuous flow of life, death and rebirth.) The border around the design area of the card is white.
